Hla, BSc(Hons), MBAcC, MRCHM, graduated in Acupuncture from the College of Traditional Acupuncture in 1981 and in Chinese Herbal Medicine from the London Academy of Oriental Medicine in 1991.
Hla is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM). She is a past president of the RCHM.
She has been involved in education since 1995 as a senior lecturer and clinical supervisor and has taught at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and the University of Westminster, School of Integrated Studies. In 2009 she was a course leader in a postgraduate training programme in medical education at the London Deanery.
She is passionate about holistic medicine as a way of life through awareness of diet, exercise and mental attitude and is particularly interested in the mind-body aspect of health and healing.
She enjoys cooking, writing, meditation and spending time in nature.
