BSc (Hons) Sports Science and Sports Therapy Degree and Post Grad in Sports performance nutrition
Kat Buckland qualified with a Degree in sports and exercise science, as well as gaining a first class degree in sports therapy and Post Graduate qualification in Sports performance nutrition. Kat is currently studying to be a strength and conditioning coach. Within nutrition Kat has special interest in neurodegenerative disease and women’s health within performance.
Kat offers the following services including:

Assess muscle, joint, ligament, and tendon injuries

Identify causes of pain, movement dysfunction, or poor biomechanics

Evaluate posture, gait, flexibility, strength, and range of motion

Treat acute and chronic injuries such as sprains, strains, tendinopathy, and overuse injuries

Use hands-on techniques like:

Soft tissue massage

Myofascial release
-
Joint mobilisations

Apply modalities such as taping, strapping, ice/heat, and sometimes electrotherapy (depending on training)

Design individualised rehab programs after injury or surgery

Guide progressive strengthening, mobility, and stability exercises

Help patients safely return to sport, work, or daily activities

Identify risk factors for injury

Create warm-up routines and conditioning plans

Advise on load management, recovery strategies, and movement efficiency

Improve strength, power, flexibility, and movement patterns
-
Assist with sport-specific conditioning

Support athletes during training and competitions

Teach proper exercise technique

Advise on posture, ergonomics, footwear, and training habits

Help manage recurring injuries and long-term conditions

Outside of work as a sports and massage therapist, Kat plays hockey for the Wales’ Woman’s Team and is a dressage rider and trainer.
